So I got my tank dropped with a surprisingly minumal amount of work.  Couple of questions:

1:   Why are there 7 lines?  Seems a bit much...

2:  Should I clean/treat it myself or take it to someone?  What does it run to have someone clean and seal a tank and who does it?  My search results haven't been fruitful.

Scout II tank? Can you post a picture? If its not fuel injected there should be only one line. Sounds like a previous owner thing!

For the 1973-1975 Scout II, my shop manual shows 7 hoses plus the big filler house

In no order:

4 vapor vent hoses
1 drain back hose
1 filler vent hose
1 hose to fuel pump
1 filler hose

I hope my manual gets here soon.  I figured it had something to do with excessive ventilation.  It's a 76 traveler, seems to be pretty factory and it is by no means FI.  It does have a carbon can and what seems to be an EGR valve so I'm sure I'm in for all kinds of great smog surprises.   But no factory CAT so it should be easier then my 81 f250....

From what I remember from my dealership days cats weren't required by all states until 1979 I could be wrong.
Good luck the manual is your best friend!
