well, I have been going back and forth on this for a few months, and I think I just need to sell my scout 80, or at least try.

The skinny- I bought it a year ago, have since put in new plugs, points, condenser, coil, exhaust donut, carb rebuilt, oil filter adapter, front u-joint, rear pinion seal, new glass and seals, new brake shoes, wheel cylinders, front wheel bearings, rebuilt master cylinder, and more. The guy I bought it from said he had the gas tanks cleaned out, "media blasted" the rims and top, and some engine work (but I don't know much more than that prior to when I bought it)

What is needed- the guy that had it before me had it painted and disconnected the lights, they need re-connected.   This won't be much of a problem except the brake lights may need re-wired.  The parking brake handle needs replaced (I have a replacement), and the interior door and window handles need to be put back on.  I have most of the weather stripping but it needs installed, could use a new battery, I can't get the glove box open, and there are probably some other little things that I can't think of or don't know about yet.  The paint job is nice but not great and there are a few scratches.  The biggest things that I have noticed are that the rear corners are off a scout 800 (I only know this b/c there are holes for back-up lights, but in 62 they didn't have back-up lights on these) and the goofball that put the electric fuel pump on only hooked up the left tank (no wonder I kept running out of gas so soon!).

What's included: I found a '61 that I pulled the engine, tranny and t-case, both axles (complete), parking brake, original AM radio! and half-top (needs work but has potential, good glass).  I don't know anything about these parts, other than the vehicle had been sitting since the mid 90-s.  I have several misc. parts like mirrors, wiper components, brake shoes, clutch parts, another tranny and t-case in Tucson, and more that I will probably find as I clean out my garage if this thing sells.  I also have the shop manual for it, "roll" bar, and a set of rims that have been blasted and painted to match the top.

I jumped it today and drove it around for a while, it runs good but not great.  It seems like it doesn't have as much power as it should but I don't know what a 152 is capable of in the first place.  I am going to start with asking $5000 obo to SDS and Scoutswest and see what happens.  If nothing, I will probably craigslist list or ebay it.  I am still working on how to get the pictures attached, which should hopefully happen soon.  I am willing to come down on the price but it isn't worth it to me to go too low.
