Vehicle Classification Definitions
Stock: As the name implies, vehicles in STOCK class should have their factory appearance and drivetrain. Normal upkeep of an older vehicle necessarily means tires, batteries, hoses, belts, and other normal maintenance-type items get replaced for safe driving. Replacements should be of the same general type or size as factory for STOCK class. STOCK vehicles must have an IH engine/transmission/transfercase as offered in that vehicle. Radios will generally not be considered for or against a STOCK classification. Tire size should be consistent with factory offerings.
Non-Stock: Some classes are judged on a STOCK or NON-STOCK basis. An example may be Pickup class. In these classes, a NON-STOCK vehicle does not meet the STOCK vehicle guidelines above. Examples may include drivetrain or suspension modifications.
Mild: A vehicle in MILD class must have an IH engine/transmission/transfercase as offered in that vehicle, but may also include any combination of body and suspension lift 4” or less; fuel injection; and a maximum tire size of 33.”
Wild: A vehicle in WILD class may have any engine/transmission/transfercase combination; any axles; fuel injection; leaf-spring-over-axle, four-link or other non-stock suspension; reverse shackle; any combination of body and suspension lift up to 7”; and a tire size between 34”-37.”
Extreme: A vehicle in EXTREME class will typically exhibit several modifications described above in WILD class, in addition to tire size 38” or larger.
Non-Stock: Some classes are judged on a STOCK or NON-STOCK basis. An example may be Pickup class. In these classes, a NON-STOCK vehicle does not meet the STOCK vehicle guidelines above. Examples may include drivetrain or suspension modifications.
